On September 30, social media was buzzing with the hashtag #SocialFriday. On this special date, we had our third annual Social Friday Activity event for 2022, under the global initiative that happens every quarter of the year.
All the companies, organisations and NGOs that decided to participate had their events on the same date, all across the globe!
The vision of Social Friday is that everyone can make a difference and help someone in need by using their unproductive work time on Friday to promote togetherness in society.
For our latest event we decided to do something creative. We teamed up with the Home for orphans “11 Oktomvri” from Skopje, and the “Atelier for painting and drawing”.

It was another great day for Social Friday, the day when everyone was encouraged to do something good for society. Not to mention that the weather was lovely!
Our team decided to use the unproductive working hours on Friday and get involved with a new friend – the home “11 Oktomvri”.
Our mission was to encourage the children to express their creativity through creating art. And for that we had a huge help from the professionals from the Atelier for drawing and painting.
The event was held on the lovely green terrace of the “Koco Racin Culture Centre” in Skopje and we can proudly say that it was a great success! The children had so much fun creating art, and they were really excited to see their drawings come to life. We had the chance to meet and talk to most of them and get familiar with how we can help them achieve their ambitions.
The artists from the drawing and painting studio also did a great job of teaching and helping the children in creating their artistic expressions. See on this link the corresponding video of the event.
After having such a wonderful experience, together with the kids we’ve also decided to organise an exhibition of the art created that day! We’ll have it on the date of the next Social Friday, 25 November, and all the paintings will be on sale. The collected funds from the auction will be donated to the children’s home “11 Oktomvri”.
We’re already looking forward to the next Social Friday, which not by accident is on the same date as Black Friday, and we are especially excited because we’ll be doing something special for the occasion.
Along with the art exhibition that will happen that evening, we’ll also engage in a tree planting activity! For every new subscriber for BREON, we will plant a tree!

As we mentioned before, for the Social Friday activity of 4Q22, the date of November 25 was chosen with a great symbolic meaning. By reinterpreting the occasion (Black Friday), we want to give back to the community and stop (or at least minimise) the popular consumption approach on this Friday in November.
We encourage you to join us and challenge the status quo for dealing with the most unproductive time of the week!
