The Life of the Technical Staff at Breon: Maja Meglenova

Being an architect has always been considered challenging. It is more of a lifestyle, and never just a job.

To understand more about the life of an Architectural Engineer we talked with a person from the inside, a team member from the technical staff at Breon.

We had a pleasure to get to know Ms. Maja Meglenova. A truly inspiring person, devoted to her profession and always eager to learn more and develop.

She told us more about the significance of the projects the Breon team is working on, and also about the Social Friday cause for which she says, you can’t understand the fulfillment from it until you’ve experienced it.

Continue reading and find out more.

1.Can you tell us a few words about yourself? Who is Maja and what inspires her most in life?

I’m Maja and I’m an architect at BREON for two years. When it comes to inspiration – many different things can inspire me, starting from people in my life, everyday situations, and experiences, music, passionate and ambitious people.

2.What motivated you to join the Breon team and what do you like most about working here?

BREON is a modern engineering studio that works on many imposing projects across Switzerland. The company provides the best quality and hence the need for the best professionals.

What I like the most about working at Breon is the chance to work in an international company and the unique opportunity to be involved in great projects for the Switzerland market.

Also, a very important point is the possibility for constant development and improvement of our professional skills in a dynamic working environment, and the use of the latest software and technology that provide complete support and favor of that process.

3.While working as an architect at Breon, it’s all about making ideas happen. Can you share what problems do you solve for your clients?

By using the latest software, we create 3D BIM Models and construction plans – formwork and reinforcement plans.

The use of BIM technology provides better project coordination and collaboration with stakeholders, also efficient workflows and 3D visualizations resulting in improved project outcomes.
We are trying to follow the latest trends in the construction industry – software and technology, and for each new project to implement some of it to get improved project outcomes and benefits for all the involved parties.

4. Can you tell us about a project that you consider to be the most challenging and significant in your career so far?

In the last two years, while working in Breon, I’ve been in several projects, and each one of them had different challenges and requirements.

The latest project that we are involved in is a construction project of a modern depot hall with maintenance and repair areas for the Zurich public transport company, and new urban housing development with a total of 193 residential units is being created, which offers living space for around 550 people.

My colleagues and I are very pleased and enthusiastic about the chance to be part of such a project. We are looking forward to the challenges that we are going to face and the solutions we are going to provide, but also the new things that we are going to learn from this experience.

5. One of your company’s team events is Social Friday, can you share your point of view behind this idea?

Social Friday is a great initiative that brings people together, and there are numerous benefits of being part of it.

In our everyday life, we take a lot of things for granted, but not everyone is that lucky. For some people, our little is a lot.

By being part of a Social Friday Event everyone benefits! The organizations get the needed support and we get a chance to get to know our colleagues better and see a different and maybe unknown side of their personality.

Тhe feeling of fulfillment after each event is indescribably, and for everyone to understand it, the best way is to experience it.

6. Is there a personal motto that drives you through life’s challenges?

I don’t really know. 🙂 Probably every new day is a new chance and one from Roy T. Bennett ‘’Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.‘’

7. Lastly, for any future colleagues or clients, can you tell us how is Breon different from other companies in the field?

Breon is a great place for every engineer/architect that wants challenges and at the same time wants to learn and develop. The working conditions, as the use of the latest software and technology, is in complete support and favor of that process. Teamwork is the key to success and Breon is a company that cares for each member of the team.

Breon is an engineering company based in Skopje. It creates 3D models and construction plans. The company has a unique vision about its customers, employees, and the community. This philosophy resulted in creating the Social Friday initiative.
